This Shamanic Recovery fellowship is a community that supports all people on all paths of recovery. Our intention is to gather to share the message of recovery with a focus on spirituality, healing, and growth.
We have found that regardless of our individual or specific addictions and compulsions, we are all spiritual beings recovering from the human experience. We believe if we deepen into meditation and a spiritual practice that is authentic to each of us individually, we connect to the Greater Power within. In doing so we can further heal and recover.
A shaman is often called a wounded healer-one who has learned how to heal themselves of the pain of life’s experiences and shares the wisdom gained from those experiences with others.
“Recovery from addictions means a willingness to open to the great mystery that we have experienced as a void. We have tried to fill the void with all manner of substances and obsessive behaviors. Knowing we are not alone; we find that what we thought was a frightening plunge into the void is really a dance with mystery. Obsession alchemically transforms into passion, and the dance with our inner Greater Power becomes a union with the Divine. By facing and embracing the darkness we sought to avoid, we come home to ourselves.”
