How We came to be

The Shamanic Recovery Group was started by a community of people in recovery ranging from those who identify as alcoholics, drug addicts, codependents, love addicts, children of alcoholics, food addicts or any person desiring recovery in their life. We often identify as “Spiritual beings recovering from the human experience.”

We were seeking a fellowship that felt more inclusive. A space for all people, all walks of recovery and all spiritual belief systems. A place that offered a container for community and support instead of a program for recovery. A place where we could honor our individual uniqueness and speak open and freely about our experience. A place to deepen into the Greater Power that lives within us.

One of the founders of our group studies with Shamanic healer, and founder of Venus Rising University, Linda Starwolf. This group was inspired by Starwolf’s Venus Rising Recovery & Discovery Process and her book The 30 Shamanic Questions.

A shaman is often called a wounded healer. We believe by facing and embracing the darkness we once sought to avoid, we come home to ourselves.

We invite you to join us as we journey within.

You do not have to be clean and sober to join this group. We do however ask you honor the space and do not attend the meting under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Our meeting is fully self-supporting by our attendees. The suggested donation is $3 per meeting to help cover rent and our website hosting. Donations are needed and appreciated but not required to attend.
